GREEN Challenge #2

Take a picture of yourself wearing the tackiest, most bizarre green clothes you can find! If you are on facebook then you must post the picture on the GREEN fan page and make the picture your profile picture. You can win bonus points if you can get others (family and friends) to dress in tacky green clothes and join you in the picture. Points will be awarded to those who complete the task, involve the most people in their picture, wear the craziest green clothes, and the first person to post a picture. Good luck!! If you are not on facebook, then email your pictures to Wes at wesjackson@sunnyvalefbc.com and he will post your pictures to the fanpage for everyone to see.

GREEN "Grow or Die"

In case you've been out of the loop, DNow 2010 is quickly approaching. This year's theme, GREEN "grow or die," was revealed last Monday. The next several weeks will provide every student an opportunity to compete and interact online. You will be asked to complete a certain task, answer a crazy question, or engage in a unique challenge. By completing the task, you will receive points for yourself or those you team up with if you choose to do so. The individual with the top point total will then move on for a chance to win up to $400. Obviously, in order to participate and be eligible, you must be present during the DNow weekend. . The daily "task" will be posted on the DNow Facebook fan page and the Sunnyvale Student Ministry blog and will begin this Saturday at noon. Some tasks may require a digital camera or video capabilities and all instructions will be given through the blog and facebook, and by email if needed.

Welcome 7th Graders!

Kyle and I had to privilege of spending five days with the incoming 7th grade class last week during VBS. Wow, this class is intense and has great energy! To the left is a picture of the entire group after total domination in a few games of lazer tag. Next up..... Pre-Teen camp!

We are excited to see these students step into the student ministry and look forward to watch God transform each life in a significant, radical way.

Clearing the Confusion

I noticed that a few of the recent videos appear on the blog with the same picture. Each video begins with the same intro so be sure and watch each one seperately. I promise I have not posted the same video over and over and over.

Have a great weekend! Always be on guard.

Bamboozled Bamboozlers

The bamboozling has taken some unique turns over the past week and there are many great mysteries as to who might be involved and who can be trusted as a loyal team member. Many goldfish have been taken from Kyle's office and as a result we all have surrounded our friend with encouraging words and support. For all you facebook junkies, please be on guard for phony identities and wanna-be bamboozlers.

The following video captures yet another bamboozled bamboozling. The bottom line in all this madness is this: "Don't Get Bamboozled!" Join us at camp, June 12th-16th. Sign up by this coming Sunday to receive the discount price of $190. Visit the Sunnyvale FBC website for release forms and other information.

COLLISION 2009 - FCA Rally Tonight

So I know that most of the students in the area are finally finding freedom from the many different extracurricular activities going on this spring. For those who have found that freedom, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from three different campuses will be coming together tonight for a student rally at Terry Middle School. There can be no excuses for having nothing to do tonight! Not that you need extra motivation, but, Kyle and Wes will be in charge of the cooking so you definitely don't want to miss out.

Check out the Collision Web Page for more information. See you all tonight!

Sunny Bowl III Champions

Sunny Bowl III brought out intense competition from all across Mesquite, Garland, Rowlett, and Sunnyvale. After over eight hours of extreme flag football, the Cream Team from Horn High School proved to be the top talent. The Cream Team went undefeated through the winners' braquet and matched up against the Semi-Pros in the final game of the day. Last year's champions, The Goons, competed well through out the day and was beat out in the semi-final game against the Semi-Pros.
Congratulations to the Cream Team!! All bragging rights have been turned over to them until next Spring at Sunny Bowl IV.

The Church Office

New Content Coming!

Over the next several days we will be adding new content in the form of pictures, videos, and information from past student ministry events. It is always fun to look back at the past and so I hope you enjoy revisiting many past memories. However, let's not get stuck looking back and be sure to check in frequently to see what is coming up and what God is up to in the Sunnyvale Student Ministry.

Be praying for the next several weeks and all that is going to take place. See you soon!

It's Going to be Huge!

Howdy! We are in the process of creating a blog that will provide students and parents at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church with material that is informational, humorous, and valuable to those in touch with the Sunnyvale Student Ministry. Trust us, this is no bamboozling act and much more is on the way very soon!
